Leading a Bible study
Ashley and her husband, a bi-vocational pastor, planted Chasah, a multicultural Christian community in Fort Worth, Texas, where she serves by discipling women, leading the youth group, teaching Bible studies, and living out daily hospitality.
Ashley has always loved inspiring stories, meaningful research, and writing. That love led her to earn a degree in Strategic Communications from TCU's School of Journalism, and it has followed her into housing ministry, teaching, and now writing books.
Her lifelong aim is to love God and love people deeply, inspiring people to love others with God's love and providing practical strategies to live out that love.
She has done this through founding the DFW Asylum Seeker Housing Network, through regularly welcoming women and children in seasons of transition and crisis into their own home, providing housing and practical care, through homeschooling her own children plus children of incarcerated parents.
Through years of discipleship, hospitality, ministry, and walking closely with women and families, while wrestling and growing in her own marriage, Ashley has seen the deep need for, and transforming power of marriage teaching that is both deeply biblical and deeply practical. Her writing grows out of a desire to shepherd Christian wives toward God's ways of love, beauty, wholeness, and joy.
Her first book, The Dance of Love and Marriage: Dancing in God's Rhythm, is the beginning of a planned marriage series, hoping to give a comprehensive Christian guide to practically all areas of life as together as one.
In her free time, Ashley enjoys weekly date nights with her husband, sharing morning coffee with girl friends, hosting neighbors for dinner, researching, writing, dancing, running, and talking to Jesus. She and her husband live in Fort Worth, where they are raising four boys full of personality and energy, who keep their home loud, lively, full of stories, and dirty dishes and laundry. Married since 2009, they have learned over the years how to love deeply, live fully, and find joy in the daily dance of life, love, and marriage.
